We have something incredible planned for Wine Women & Shoes - Winston-Salem on May 9th! While guests shop the Marketplace, we'll be selling 100 chances for a Grand Prize: a fabulous "closet" full of items generously donated by multiple sponsors and made possible by California Closets. There will be one lucky guest who will take it all home, including gift cards, luggage, jewelry, furniture and more. Each chance purchased benefits the programs and services of RMHCPT. 🩷 #WWSWS24
We are beyond fortunate to have a constant flow of special people who choose to give their time and talents to show love to the families we serve at RMHCPT. These are only a few! We've had volunteers from Cone Health baking treats; the @harvardlacrosse team spent a day cooking and cleaning for us; nursing students from Surry Community College baked cookies, packed lunches, and ran Hospitality Carts; and Rooster's - A Noble Grille catered a delicious meal that made everyone in the House feel special. Every act of service has a huge impact on the experience families have during their stay with us, so we are grateful for all of our volunteers!
What's your lucky number? At the Wall of Wine at our Wine Women & Shoes event on May 9th, you can use your bid number to pay $25 to draw a randomly numbered cork. You win the bottle of wine with that number—it’s that easy! Once you've won your bottle, you have two options. You can take it with you, or if you prefer, we can store it for you and arrange for an easy pick-up service at the end of the evening. It's all about making your experience as smooth as possible. The best part is that every bottle of wine purchased from the Wall provides a Guest Family donation for a family we serve for 2 nights! 🥂 #WWSWS24 #RMHCPT
After 77 nights at our Ronald McDonald House, the Hancock/Pollard family was able to go home this week! Baby J. was born premature in January. Supporters like you enabled us to provide home-cooked meals, hot showers, and a place of respite from 77 long days at the NICU for this family. Thank you! #rmhcptfamily #RMHC
Today marks the start of 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities! Are you curious about the Ronald McDonald House and how you can make a difference as a volunteer? Join us for a 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲! Every first Wednesday of the month, we have an open house for interested volunteers. Most morning sessions are in person, and evening sessions are virtual—the April sessions are both virtual. OUR STORY
1980s
- Latham family founded RMHCPT in memory of their son Alan
- Doors opened on September 14, 1984
- 10-bedroom “home-away-from-home” for families whose children needed medical care in Winston-Salem
- Friends of the RMH formed to provide volunteer support, community engagement, and fundraising
- Events such as Ronald’s Rainbow Revue follies and Light a Luminary established to raise funds for the House
1990s
- RMHCPT celebrated 10th Birthday
- Property next door purchased and renovated to expand to 17 bedrooms
- Family Support Services (FSS) program founded to address the non-medical needs of guest families
2000s
- Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at Brenner Children’s Hospital and Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center opened to provide a place of respite and rejuvenation for families with children in the hospital
- Teens with Heart summer volunteer program established
- Sport a Shirt, Share a Night annual fundraiser launched
2010s
- Grand opening of the “House that Love Built” featuring 35 bedrooms
- Annual Character Breakfast fundraiser established
- Daily shuttle service to and from Forsyth Medical Center began with the gift of our Ronald Car
- Aunt Pauline’s Pushcart rolled out to serve moms on the antepartum unit at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center
